You are invited to join us as we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the restoration of Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Originally a movie theater, it opened in 1931. The theater was the largest and most modern in Spokane, but with the rise of suburban cinemas in the 1970s, it witnessed a gradual decline. Unwilling to see such a historical treasure demolished, a city-wide effort was led by the Spokane Symphony to lovingly restore The Fox to its former Art Deco splendor in 2007.
Thomas Hampson performed at the grand reopening of The Fox in 2007, and the world-renowned, Grammy Award-winning baritone is coming back to the theater to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its restoration at the gala. Born in Spokane and an alum of EWU, Hampson is hailed as “America’s Leading Baritone” and the “Ambassador of American Song.”
The gala will include a delicious catered meal, drinks, a video presentation on The Fox restoration, and entertainment. Funds raised at the event will support the Spokane Symphony and Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.

Leave a Permanent Mark Downtown on the Sidewalk at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox
Reserve a personalized sidewalk star and also receive recognition on the Wall of Fame in the Founder's Gallery at The Fox. Both the stars and the Wall of Fame are permanent and memorialize and honor the business, individuals or foundations named for generations to come.
Stars can be purchased for $40,000 and are payable over three years. These tax-deductible donations benefit the Foundation for the Future Campaign of the Symphony. The deadline to purchase a star is August 30, 2017.
